1 Timothy 2:1-2 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
I cannot begin to express my gratitude to our Lord for answering the prayers of millions of Christians regarding the election of leaders in our country. Donald Trump is the President-Elect of our country! Thanks to that the United States of America has the opportunity to return to so many of the values that made our country one to be admired. The current president and his cohorts have done such damage to the rule of law and to the fabric of our nation. Praise God so many of these negative things will be undone!
It was so apparent that a continuing and even worsening of the current – and proposed – government policies and practices would have resulted in a nation we wouldn’t recognize. Irreparable damage and corruption would have been done. Thank God that has been avoided. We now have the opportunity to pray for leadership to undo the bad, embrace the good and become once again a nation to be proud of. One that that her people, her friends and her allies can count on. One that her enemies will fear and respect and no longer ridicule.
Let us commit to continue praying for our leaders, that they will lead in a way pleasing to our Lord.
