Monday October 17

Ecclesiastes 3:1, 2b 1There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: … a time to plant and a time to uproot…

And for those who are part of the Williamson Christian College extended family and our church family here in Franklin, TN might I add,…a time to say goodbye. For family and friends in NE Ohio it will be a time to say hello.  Although it was anticipated, it was still difficult to receive the news that my service to WCC was ending.

This past week the President of the college very sadly informed me that the current
economic conditions warranted this decision. President Stephen and his family and our family have been friends for over 17 years and we will continue to be for as many years as the Lord gives us. We have shared many life adventures together over those years from weddings, to grand children, to changes in our landscape but never changes to our friendship.

However, we both recognized this change as needful and vital to the ongoing success of
WCC – particularly during this season of financial stress. It will be through our community of prayer that this challenge will be solved.  We invite you to join with us in this season
of consistent prayer for WCC.

Donna and I are so grateful that we’ve had two years to be a part of Williamson Christian College.  Exciting things are going on today that were not here when we came, and what
will be coming in the days ahead will be more opportunities from the hand of God to bless the WCC family. We are confident that this time of financial stretching will be followed by growth and prosperity. The staff has been a blessing to work with and we treasure the relationships we’ve developed here.  We have many new friends who we will never forget!

We will be moving to the Akron, Ohio area before the end of the month. Earlier we lived there for 20 years. While I don’t have a job up there at this time, the Lord is our source and we are looking to him to provide and anticipating that He will. As President Stephen’s wife Paula has reminded us all, “God knows how to count and to tell time, we just need to keep our eyes on Him.” I know you will agree with us that we are thrilled that we will get to be with three of our sons and their families!! – Five grandchildren!!

It truly is a time of sadness and joy – saying goodbye to friends and dear ones; and returning to family, loved ones and friends. We are so grateful for the treasures God has given us here in Franklin, TN.
